The Day Before Year 2 Starts

It’s stunning how time flies. Just a few hours before the new school term, I am sitting in front of my notebook reflecting on the last couple of weeks and silently berating myself for not treasuring the present.

I took a break from my training schedule when YOG started and long working hours became the norm of my life. Today was my first 9km run in weeks. At work, there were pretty interesting days, as well as very dull ones. I was actually looking forward to the end of work but laziness had since taken over. It’s time to kick-start my engine for the new term. Focus, focus, focus.

CAT 1 in the morning ruined my weekend off-road session and I was confined to the comforts of my bed. I didn’t manage to get my bike out today but at least I found enough time to give the clogged gear cables a spruce up. I returned the loaned RP2 to Hup Leong a few days ago when mine was ready for collection after a rebuilt during which all the seals were changed. For once, I am glad I had a warranty in place!

We (myself, Jasper, Terence, Kah Kiong, Chin Yang & Jeremy) went for a 110km ride to Kota Tinggi on Sat, 21 August in the company of SMBF guys which included En Joo and Clinton. It was a pretty leisure ride to our destination and I enjoyed it =)

Our first major rest point was at Today’s Mall where most of the group had their breakfast. I idled around with Jeremy, Terence and Jasper as we felt that we could hold out until Kota Tinggi.

It was pretty late (around 9.45am if I recall correctly) when we reached Kota Tinggi. I decided to give ba-kut-teh a miss this time round and opted for chicken rice instead. After gobbling down the food, glutton me still felt hungry so I ordered a plate of wanton noodles.

Because I had to work in the afternoon, we had to turn back for home while the others proceeded to the waterfall. A pretty brisk pace and two hours later, lunch was at Old Woodlands Interchange. Thereafter, it was a mad rush to work for me.

Hey do you still wear your Mavic Alpine shoes?

I wear a size 9 (US) Asics running shoe, what size do you think I should get in the alpine?

Thanks!

Hi, I am still using my Mavic Alpine, US Size 9. I wear US Size 9 on my Brooks & Asics trainers too so I think a pair of similar sized Alpines should fit you.
